Levi isn't able to help Rodger in a mechanical way since his handyman skills fare no better, but he does know how to bring out the best in people and inspire them to do more than they thought they could. Levi senses the frustration emanating from Rodger as he works with the dumb cables that mismatch or simply aren't splicing together the way they should. He takes a seat on a nearby box to speak with the sergeant.
"Are you a religious man, Sergeant?... You know what, never mind that I asked. I am. And if you'll indulge me a moment, I have something to say."
"I can see you're getting frustrated with this project and that's alright. It is frustrating. Let's put that down for a minute and regroup. You know, I believe that God makes all things work together for our good. Even here, and now. If you have but the faith of a mustard seed, you can move mountains. Luckily, we don't need to move a whole mountain, just one door. God can provide that." He stops himself for a moment. "I know, I know. That sounds preachy, and you'd be right. I can't help myself sometimes," Levi chuckles. "If you don't believe in that, I understand. I'm not here to 'convert' you. If you don't believe in God, there are still valuable lessons to be learned from His teachings. The one most relevant to our situation, and the whole point I'm trying to make with my rambling, is that your thoughts matter. If you believe you can do it, you can. 'Mind over matter,' as they say. I believe you can do it, and I need you to believe you can do it as well."
